For your first assignment this week, you will research the opportunity gap in k-12 education in the United States and create a concept map.
Research the opportunity gap in schools in the United States. There are many gaps in schools as there are in most institutions in the United States.
Pick five of these opportunity gaps for this assignment.
Create a concept map depicting how these gaps in opportunities related to adverse childhood experiences and how trauma informed educational practices and related support systems can combat the effects of those traumas on k-12 education.
Some opportunity gaps include:
Standardized Testing and the data produced
Student discipline
Curriculum represented in schools
Microaggressions of educators impacting classroom conditions and school environment
Poverty
Neglect and abuse
College entrance
Disproportionate distribution of grants and scholarships
High school graduation and dropout rates
Completion of grade 8
Use five scholarly resources to support your graphic. Include an APA 7 formatted reference list.

References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly references.
The completed assignment should address all the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course.
