POLICY BRIEF #2
INSTRUCTIONS: Write a 1000-1500 word policy brief on the topic listed below. Review the instructions carefully and be sure to follow the requirements.
POLICY BRIEF TOPIC: Summarize the need for addressing gender and sexual inequality in schools. Choose ONE policy you believe will be best for achieving gender inclusive schools and support your argument.
Requirements:
FORMAT: This policy brief must be presented in the proper format.
See the outline provided in the “How do I” section.
Note that there is a sample essay provided in the “How Do I” section.
A policy brief requires a formal writing style so you should write in the third person (no I or You statements).
POLICY OPTION: Your policy brief will argue in favour of one policy solution to solve the social problem from the list provided.
The potential policies to choose from are summarized in the POLICY OPTIONS file for this Unit on the course Moodle page.
Don’t worry if you have not engaged with policy recommendations before. There is enough information provided for you to understand how the system works and for you to be able to make an argument for what you think is a good solution.
SOCIOLOGICAL LENS: In order to demonstrate that your policy brief analysis is based on the sociological insights that you have learned from all of the assigned course materials in this Unit: textbook readings, video lectures, PPTs, documentaries, and Glossary you need to provide extensive supporting evidence and citations from the relevant course materials to back up your arguments using APA-7 citation style.
See the citation information provided in the “How do I” section.
You need to accurately utilize relevant sociological concepts in your writing.
Please note that in this course you may not include sources that have not been assigned by the instructor. The course materials have been specifically chosen because they represent accurate, up to date, and relevant information that provides a sociological analysis.
