For this assignment, you will assume the role of Urban Planning Director. You will develop a report that will provide a detailed plan for a specific policy, department, or geographic area for your selected municipality’s city council. This report provides you an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the concepts covered in Weeks 1 through 4 by analyzing data, incorporating disparate perspectives, and prioritizing issues. This assignment closely aligns to the Week 5 Urban Plan Presentation to City Council in which you will provide a high-level overview of this detailed report and practice delivering your ideas for an urban plan to a council.

Indicate the municipality and focus or policy area that the plan will be developed for.
Assess the current population and demographics of the community.
Explain how the make-up of the community should guide policy making.
Assess the needs of the residents and the factors identified through the SWOT analysis.
Plan for land use (e.g., dedicated, mixed use, green space, economic development, revitalization or renewal, etc.).
Examine transit availability.
Outline three short-term goals (3–5 years), in order of priority, including an explanation of how priority was established.
Outline three-long term goals (7–10 years), in order of priority, including an explanation of how priority was established.
Explain any legal issues.
Indicate the theoretical model used to support your plan.
Estimate the budget forecast; what are the implications?
