select a person from the 1st century (no one from the Bible) until present day and write an 8-10 page research paper. you do not write about a person from the Bible or a passage of scripture. You should choose a person from 90 AD onward who has had a significant impact on the history of Christianity. Please e-mail me your choice— I may be able give you some suggestions on sources. The research paper is worth 20% of your final course grade. Please follow the specific criteria listed below:
Use Turabian or MLA format.
Use Times New Roman 12 pt. font.
Use 1-inch margins.
Use double spacing throughout the entire paper — no extra spacing allowed between paragraphs.
Use at least seven sources, only two of which can be websites. This means that you can use a website as a source, but must have at least 5 non-Internet sources (books, commentaries, etc.). You are certainly welcome to use more than two websites as sources, but must use at least five non-Internet sources. An e-book can count as a non-internet source.
The paper should be at least 8 full pages. The title page does not count as a page. The Works Cited page does not count as an official page. Failure to write at least 8 full pages will result in a ten-point grade reduction for each full page less than the minimum 8-page requirement. This means that the body of your paper (not counting your cover page and Works Cited page should be at least 8 pages in length, double spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font.
If you have any questions regarding the paper please e-mail the professor.
The paper must be submitted via e-mail by midnight on Sunday, December 3.
Late papers will receive a 20 points per day grade reduction, including weekends. No late papers will be accepted after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 10. Please email the professor if you need to submit your paper late.
