Commencement Speech
Congratulations! You just completed your CSU Global coursework and are traveling to the commencement ceremony in Denver. You skillfully used time management to overcome the obstacles and challenges presented by other responsibilities to successfully complete your program. As a result of your hard work, you have been selected to deliver a speech at the commencement ceremony. Your written speech and the recorded presentation should describe your journey and what you learned about yourself as a leader. Include an experience from your first course and share your future plans. Consider the individuals who helped you achieve this goal. Who do you want to be? This project is your story.
There are two parts to the assignment.
Prepare your written speech addressing the following:
Module 1: Your use of time management personally and professionally
Module 2: Your traits of leadership
Module 3: Your power to influence
Module 4: Your leadership style
Module 5: Your use ethical communication to influence
Consider what you would like to say to your colleagues, CSU Global faculty, friends, and family as you look back on your journey. Describe who you want to be as you look forward to your journey.
Prepare a video recording of your graduation speech including a voice-over. You can record a powerpoint presentation of your speech with voice-over or just an audio/visual recording of your speech.
Resources to assist you in recording your presentation can be found in the CSU Global Library (link provided in left navigation panel). Using PowerPoint with the Media tab and audio is recommended. You may also use a smartphone or webcam to record yourself.
Guidelines for the Written Speech:2-3 pages required (not including the Title or References pages). In double-spaced APA format. This will coincide with your Video recording, allowing you 3-4 minutes for the Commencement speech.Minimum of 3 academic references..
Guidelines for the Video Recording:
3-4 minutes recording. Your time may vary based on how fast you speak. The goal is to make a comfortable presentation.Your recording may be an audio/visual recording or a PowerPoint presentation with voiceover. Choose whichever option you are most comfortable with.
