Deadline: End of Week 4.
The Midterm Assignment is a CI Case Study Brief (with audio/visual of briefing).
For this project, you will provide a PowerPoint briefing. Assume you are briefing policymakers. Each student will research a post-counterintelligence operation case study (examples: Operation HORIZON, Pearl Harbor, Venona, Yom Kippur War, or 9/11, Alger Hiss, Tokyo Rose, Ludwig Spy Ring, Operation Lemon Aid Spy Case, etc), there are many to review (see link below). VERY IMPORTANT: !!! Only two (2) cases that are off-limits are Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen (please DO NOT select these case studies). Your briefing will include the following:
(1) Summary of key issues raised – states facts of the case study and offer an analysis of the case study
(2) Principal Lesson Learned – a minimum of 3 must be identified (relevance to US national security)
(3) Identification of a minimum of 5 discussion questions AND ANSWERS (please note: no more than 8) in relation to your selected case. One key discussion question to address listed below must be included and count as one of 5 so you have 4 discussion questions to add.

Guidelines for slide construction are listed above, graphic art, charts, and graphs are recommended. A minimum of 8 slides and a maximum of 12.
A minimum of 5 different sources must be referenced/cited IAW Chicago Manual
The rubric will grade the following areas:
Introduction = 10 Points
Content and synthesis = 15 points
Analysis = 15 points
Presentation delivery = 20 points
Grammar and mechanics = 15 points
Conclusion = 15 points
Use of Resources = 10
Assignment due at the end of Week 4 (Week 4, Day 7)
