The final research paper is a 7 page project on a theme or topic of your choice

By admin

The final research paper is a 7 page project on a theme or topic of your choice related to “Trans-national Feminisms”. You can pick from a number of themes discussed throughout the semester. I expect the papers to be well thought out with a clear thesis statement or research question to be addressed via the research conducted. You are to conduct independent research and incorporate outside sources that complement the class readings you will use for this paper. This paper should be written for this Transnational Feminisms class (not psychology, sociology, etc.).
PURPOSE
The purpose of this final paper is to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the various themes and discourses related to transnational feminisms. Students are expected to create their own thesis or research question to be addressed throughout the paper. Please be creative with your topics.
Draft
A first draft of your paper is due on Friday, November 3rd. You are not expected to submit a completed draft, but at least 2-3 pages of your paper are to be submitted weeks before its final due date. As with all writing assignments, please proof-read assignment for spelling and grammar.
In addition to the draft, please include a “Works Cited” or References page with 3-5 sources. These are not class sources. They are sources you will find when conducting independent research for the final paper. The paper, including the works cited page can be formatted in MLA, APA or Chicago. If you are not familiar with these terms, please find out and present citations and references properly.
The final paper should have three major parts:
1) A major thesis statement or question that is to be presented in the paper
2) A set of 2-3 themes or questions that will help you address your thesis statement
3) Your own original perspective and/or take on the major themes discussed in thepaper.
The paper is to be 7 pages long. Double spaced, 12 point font, times new roman. I expect that the papers will be proof-read for spelling and grammatical errors. The last page of your paper, not including the 7 pages, is a works-cited page of at least 7-10 references. In order to enhance your paper, please make sure to include quotes directly from some of the readings covered in class.
