I have been teaching long enough, and I think my perspective is realistic enough, to know that a year from now you will not remember most of the information that was discussed in this class. And this has absolutely nothing to do with your abilities as a student or my abilities as a teacher. This is just the way of life. Part of it is because we are exposed to so much information on a daily basis that as a coping mechanism, we quickly disregard information that we determine is simply irrelevant to us and our lives. If we don’t actively use or consider information, overall, we don’t tend to hang onto it for very long. But it is my sincere hope that at least a few things from this class will “stick” with you. At least for a little while. For this essay, I ask that you identify and discuss 3-5 things that you think you will likely remember from this class experience, and also, why you believe they may “stick.” They might be related to specific course content that you found to especially interesting or specifically relevant to you and your life. They might be related to things that you read from other students through our class discussions, related to their life experiences and perspectives. You have a lot of control here. Just be very specific and detailed. Make certain that you carefully consider not only what you believe you will most likely recall, but also why.
This final assignment is a formal paper. Unlike the discussions, it will be viewable only by me. Be sure to follow the guidelines in the syllabus, including, university-level writing and a 700-word MINIMUM. It should be submitted off of the Assignments tab. If you click on the Submit Assignment button at the top right, a text box will appear for you to enter the paper
