For this assignment, assume you are working as a project manger at a small, but fast growing General Contractor that currently has 50 employees, but expects to double in size in the next two years. The owner is “old school” and is used to doing estimates and bids by hand on the back of an envelope. However, the owner has realized that in order to be competitive, the company needs to acquire construction estimating software. Since you are a recent graduate and well versed in applying technology in the construction industry, they assign you the task of researching the available products and presenting to the owner three options. The software that is selected will be used for an upcoming project to build a 200,000 square foot office building and an accompanying parking strucutre.
You will need to do an internet search for Construction Estimating Software. Based on what you learn, select three products and create a document to present your recommendations. You may use any of the word processing or presentation programs we have worked with this term. For each of these products, be sure to include the following information:
The name of the software
The purpose of the software
The software’s logo
At least three key features of the software
How much it will cost
Is it cloud based or desktop
Does the software integrate with Excel
Why using Construction Estimating Software is better than the current back of envelope process
