PART I: Thesis Statement and Research Question: Thesis Statement and Research Question must address the following: the overall influence and significance of your topic in the country of origin, the overall impact of your topic on the larger history of dance in the US, and how the dance changed in the US. (Aesthetics)
Thesis Statement: combines your topic and your opinion on your topic (the position you intend to support). MY TOPIC IS MIDDLE EASTERN LINE DANCING
Research Question used the following format: “I want to study (topic)because I want to find out (question) in order to (understand, do, etc.)(rationale).
Tentative Resources:
Four (4) tentative sources are required and are listed after the thesis (not including class text/articles): at least one book source, at least one periodical source, a maximum of two internet sources (not Wikipedia). Submit in MLA format.
PART II: DETAILED OUTLINE OF PRESENTATION AND FINAL SOURCES
Section1/Introduction
Introduction Section Outlines the following:
1. date of presentation for (I WILL INCLUDE ON MY OWN)
2. name of dance form (LINE DANCING)
4. CENTRAL THEME OR IDEA clearly stated
Section 2/Body
Body Section Outlines a description and Central Theme or Idea of what will be presented.
Section 3/Closing
Provides a brief review how you will discuss Central Themes or Ideas and Take Away. A take away is a thought or feeling that you wish others to take away from your presentation.
Final Sources:
A list of 8-10 sources minimum you will use is included. Sources included are from trusted resources. Sources should be submitted in MLA format.
