For this assignment, you will write an argumentative essay. The purpose of this essay is to persuade your reader. You may choose any topic to write about, however, the tone of the essay must be academic.
In this essay, you will investigate a topic, collect data, evaluate evidence, and defend a position.
You must use either the classic oration, Rogerian argument, or the Toulmin method of argumentation.
Organization
Introduction
The introduction should give some key background on your topic. Your introduction will also include a thesis. Your thesis must clearly explain both your topic and your stance. Please underline your thesis.
Body
The body will include the evidence needed to defend your stance. You must use Logos, Pathos, and Ethos in your essay. You must also address and refute a counterclaim.
Conclusion
The conclusion should reexamine the central focus of your essay. You must include a call to action in your conclusion. Now that you have convinced your reader that your stance is superior, what should they now do with this information.
Essay Checklist:
In the introduction I gave key background information on my topic.

4+ pages (Not counting the Works Cited Page)
At least 4 secondary, academic sources.
Visual Aids are not required for this assignment. However, if you use visual aids they may not take up more than ½ of 1 page.
