essay on resistance histories, choosing a historical topic that you would like to know more about. The topic must be connected to our readings or topics covered in class (including this month’s topics), and must center one of the four general racialized groups – Native Americans, African Americans, Chicanos/Latinxs, and Asian Americans. Your paper must also address the roots of race in Europe as discussed by Omi and Winant (racial formations), and how race defines the lives of the group chosen. Explain how resistance manifested in your topic. Address notions of “hidden history,” reflect on why this history has been marginalized or erased, and conclude with an argument about why this history matters today.
