This assignment is your response to a live performance by answering analytical questions based on 7 Criteria of Dramatic Excellence for Plays and the Elements of Drama from Aristotle’s Poetics.
Please watch a recording of a live performance of a play. I have provided a list on page called “Live Performances” in the “Assignment: Performance Analysis” Module.
120 pts possible.
I will grade your Performance Analysis based on the following information:
Criteria for Grading Writing
~Use paragraphs with 7+ compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences. Very few simple sentences.
~Be free of spelling, sentence structure, and grammatical errors.
~Each question should be answered with no less than 250-300 words. Except the first question where the date/time, title, and place, etc. of the play is to be answered… use one complete sentence.
Criteria for Grading Content
~State the play/performance title, date/time, and theatre where you witnessed the event in the space provided.
~State the Criteria of Dramatic Excellence or Element of Drama you have chosen to speak about.
~Your answer must notdefine the 7 Criteria or Aristotle’s Elements, but rather, you should use these terms appropriately while explaining your answers rationally.
~Remember to make your points, state examples as evidence, and explain how the examples support your points.
~Your answer must be well supported with descriptive and detailed information about the performance and phrase your examples as an experience you were a part of.
~Do not be cerebral or impersonal with your examples.
~You do not need to rewrite the question in your answer.
