MPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY; The assignment has several required components!
To incorporate the entire information we reviewed in this class, I’ve decided on a final that reflects real-life applications. I have been trained as an Applied Cognitive Psychologist, which is why the assignments in this class required you to apply theory to your experiences and to real world contexts. This final project is no exception. So here is what you need to do for this last assignment:
You need to create INFOGRAPHICS for people who have very little knowledge about Psychology. In this informative presentation, you will discuss at least THREE concepts from THREE DIFFERENT TOPICS that you found interesting, applicable to you, important for people to know, etc. (For example, Memory, Perception, and Social Psychology). DO NOT PICK CONCEPTS FROM THE SAME TOPIC (for example, if you chose Lifespan Development – this will be one topic; now you need to choose concepts from two other topics) The discussion of these concepts SHOULD NOT BE in the format of a definition – this is boring, and people will not be engaging with your flyer. You need to create a document that will get people’s attention to the knowledge you acquired throughout the semester. You may choose concepts/theories from any of the chapters and topics we reviewed this semester. Here is how to do it:
RULES:This is an individual exam and is open book and open notes, but you may NOT (a) consult your peers (b) collaborate with anyone.
You must apply concepts that were either discussed in the Discussion Boards and/or covered in the assigned textbook chapters and/or activities. (Do not use the Internet to find concepts which were not covered in class, in the weekly Topics, or in the assigned textbook chapters). Use only concepts you actually learned about in this course.
Be clear and specific and use your own words; do NOT cut-and-paste – not even one sentence! No direct quoting from external resources!
Cite all the sources you used at the end of the document according to APA rules of citing.
Make sure the information is valid and correct – when presenting a concept/topic do not voice your own opinion (or those of others) on it. State the factual information but in an engaging way (images help with that). You may note why you think the information is important but do not challenge its validity if you cannot support your argument. In other words, stick to the facts.
HOW TO PLAN THIS FINAL:The Infographics (you may have more than one page)The format of this assignment is designed to share what you have read and learned in a single page (you may have more than one), incorporating several elements. For this assignment, you need to think critically about what matters most from the class material and use creativity to illustrate those highlights by mixing written information and images. Your Infographics will show the information that you think would improve understanding of topics in Psychology. You should target the Infographics for the benefit of people who have limited understanding in the field (or not at all). You may divide the Infographics into sections, according to the topics you wish to include in it.
***The assignment does not require you to have any artistic or graphic design skills.
So, what might you include in your Infographics? There are endless ways to approach this assignment, but here are a few ideas to get you started:
OPTIONAL ELEMENTS TO INCLUDE IN THE INFOGRAPHICS:Include a border which represents key themes
Each of the four corners of the page has an image with written information, all representing key points. For example: The upper right corner has an image and information woven around it. The upper left corner has main themes that connect to one another (with or without images). The lower right corner has a list of important points as a reminder of information to be cognizant of when thinking about any of the different topics we reviewed this semester. The lower left corner illustrates (either in words or in images) an application of information that you think should be highlighted.
Several important themes along with visuals to enhance understanding
PLEASE NOTE:
***Feel free to design your Infographics in any way you wish while considering it to be an informative and succinct content to others who have not taken this class.
***You may draw your own design (no need to use a template from online sites) – and never pay for a template, there are plenty free of charge.
***ANY SUBMISSION THAT IS CREATED BY AI (for example, ChatGPT) WILL RESULT IN ZERO (0) POINTS!
***DO NOT COLLABORATE ON THIS ASSIGNMENT – ANY HINT OF COLLABORATION WILL RESULT IN ZERO (0) POINTS!
