For this assignment you are asked to pick a pop culture text of your choosing (TV show, current event explored in popular culture, film, music, music video, etc.) and using the knowledge we have gathered so far in the class, providing a general analysis on that artifact. So for example, in section three we covered more different ways of analyzing popular culture. For this assignment you are asked to choose a concept explored in this final section of the course. If I were to do this assignment, I would analyze Bad Bunny’s “El Apagon” through Chapter 9: Race, racism and representation.
This paper must be 3-4 pages long and must include the following:
Introduction (up to 1/2 page): identify the thesis of your analysis and let us know what you will analyze and how you will do it.
Main Point 1 (1 page): Explain the concepts you will use to analyze the pop culture text.
Main Point 2 (1/2 page): Give a description of the text being analyzed.
Main Point 3 (1 1/2 pages): Provide an analysis of this text.
Conclusion (1/2 page): Conclude your paper.
This paper should be 3-4 pages in length with no header. It should also include 3 academic sources (you can include our textbook/reading as 1 of those sources). This paper should follow the writing criteria for this course which is: 12-point font, Times New Roman, double spaces, 1 inch margins. You should submit the appropriate file format and ensure that the file is not corrupt.
