What goes in a Concert Report?
Concert Reports, unlike Journal Entries, must be in complete sentences and in essay format.
Concert Reports should be approximately 2 pages, describing the performance. What kind of performance was it? (piano recital, string quartet recital, jazz trio concert, etc.)
What pieces were played? (Be sure to pick up a copy of the printed program at the event, so that you know the names of the pieces.)
Describe the pieces briefly. (Here, you should say a little about each work, and give a longer, more specific commentary about one or two works.)
What connections can you make between this recital and what we’ve been covering in class? (You could use your new terminology, compare with pieces we’ve studied, etc.)
What things struck you the most about this concert experience?
You should feel free to be creative and to express your own opinion, but make sure you address the points, above.
