Use this template to prepare a presentation outline to use as you deliver the rough draft of your Persuasive Presentation. This outline will allow you to focus on the pieces of the presentation and help you organize your thoughts before you begin speaking. Please review the rubric on the last page of this document. Step 1: Speech Purpose and Audience What is the specific persuasive purpose of your presentation? What do you want from your audience—for them to change their opinion or for them to take some action? Who is the target audience of this persuasive speech? How may this audience require you to adapt your speech to persuade them? Step 2: The Outline Create a preparation outline to help you as you begin to practice your speech. The Preparation Outline should be written in full sentences with a clear introduction (that contains a strong thesis statement), main points and subpoints, transitions, and a conclusion. Follow a standard outline form as used in English and Writing. Include in-text citations within the outline to show where ideas are supported with research. Introduction I. Main Point A. Sub-point 1.
