What are the similarities or differences between the IRA as presented in the earlier part of the century and the IRA represented in the Troubles. Concepts such as nationalism, legitimacy, agenda, structure, goals may be compared and contrasted.
How has your perception of the IRA been influenced, if at all, by the background information learned during this course? Has this knowledge effected how you perceive the IRA in the works selected
How important are the IRA in an understanding of Irish history and politics and how does their representation in the works you select reflect or inform the audience (or not as the case may be) about Irish history and politics.
Is there a tendency to romanticize or demonize the IRA in movies you have selected Do we, as the audience, sympathize with their cause even if we don’t agree with their methods Are the IRA presented as terrorists or freedom fighters or simply as a self-serving organization whose actions effect the lives of ordinary people

You are free to choose two works from the course or compare one work from the course with a movie that was mentioned but not covered on the course just let me know if you want to write about a movie that wasn’t on the course.
please write about a different topic than you focused on in the mid-term assignment basically I don’t want you writing the same essay as you wrote in the midterm I still have them I will be checking you can reference movies covered in the first half of the course just don’t write the same essay
