This term paper will require you to apply at least one criminological theory that you have learned about this semester to a real-world criminal of your choice. Some potential criminals that you could select from are as follows:

Bernie Madoff
John Wayne Gacy
Ted Bundy
Daniel Holtzclaw
Omar Mir Seddique
Derek Chauvin
The term paper should explain or provide background information on the criminal you selected. This section should include some biographical information. For example, when was the criminal you selected born? Where was the criminal you selected born? What was their family life like? Did the criminal you selected participate in a sport, club, etc.
The term paper should thoroughly explain the criminal activity that the criminal you selected engaged in. This section should also include what the criminal you selected was charged with, convicted of, and the details or disposition of the case. For example, was the criminal you selected charged with murder and subsequently sentenced to death.
Based on the theory or theories that you use to explain the conduct of the criminal that you select, your term paper should highlight policy implications that could be employed in order to prevent others from engaging in behavior like the behavior that the criminal that you selected engaged in.
Not including your cover page or bibliography list, your term paper should be a minimum of five (5) pages. Your term paper should also include a minimum of five (5) scholarly sources. These sources can include your textbook, journal articles, websites such as those ending in .gov, or .edu, as well as media publications from credible news outlets.
Your term paper should comply with APA formatting requirements and the structure of your paper should include a cover page, an introduction, body, idea development and conclusion section and bibliography.
