PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The objective of this assessment is to give you an opportunity to develop and demonstrate your
knowledge, skills, and ability to apply quality management concepts in the context of a service
industry of your choice (e.g., healthcare, airlines, retail, hospitality, insurance) and enable you to
develop your presentation skills.
You need in this assignment to assess the quality management of 4 companies in the same industry
and to prepare an official report suggesting the best practices in each of these companies.
Select 4 medium or large service-providing companies (local or international). Briefly
introduce them.
Identify each company’s current practices, issues, and future quality management trends.
Evaluate the quality management aspects of each company.
Compare all of them.
Provide recommendations for each company on how to Improve its quality
management.
Being a university student, a high standard of written English is expected. Your project report
should be clear, concise, neatly presented, and easily read. Failure to comply with these
requirements may result in loss of marks. Your project must be a creative piece of work written by
you (group) and not submitted for assessment purposes for any program of study at this or any
other, institution.

INSTRUCTIONS:
The written report should not be less than 3500 words or more than 5500 words (Including
title page, table of contents, references, and appendices).
Late submission will lead to the deduction of 20% marks per day.
3. Writing Guidelines: Paper size: A4, Line spacing: 1.15, Margins: 1” (inch) all sides,
Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12 for text, 14 for headings and 13 for subheadings.
4. The project should have a nice title page containing all the required information such as
the title of the project, university logo, course name, names and IDs of all the group
members and section number.
Project Grading:
i) It’s a group project; all members must participate equally and produce a unified
document. The project report will be graded based on the rubric attached at the end of
this document. All the students in the group will get the same grades for a written
report, So, put group efforts into producing the best report.
ii) However, the Presentation will be graded based on individual performance. The
evaluation criterion for presentation is provided at the end of this document.
iii) The group size should be between 4 to 6 maximum.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism will not be accepted. If proven, the student will not get any grades for the project and
will be subject to disciplinary action as per university policy.
Plagiarism may take several forms, for example:
Copying, in whole or in part, from printed or other sources without acknowledgment
Paraphrasing material (stating something in different words) without acknowledging the
source.
Not acknowledging the source of ideas, even when they are put in your own words.
Copying materials from internet sites or other electronic media without acknowledgment.
Directly quoting another’s work without acknowledgment.

Submitting work written in whole or in part by others
Submitting statistical information or other facts reported by another without due
acknowledgment.
Taking phrases or terms from some source and placing them in your own work without

Using unpublished materials or summarizing another person’s work without appropriate
referencing.
Copying from another student’s work.
Cutting and pasting from sources without acknowledgment.
PROJECT FORMAT

1. Company’s background (Introduce your selected Saudi or international companies).
2. Identification of the quality management practices (Identification of current practices,
issues, and future trends of quality management in each company of your choice using
various concepts and principles of quality management covered in the course. In
addressing these aspects, you need to: a) discuss definitions of quality, b) discuss a range
of relevant approaches to quality management, c) identify issues in their implementation
and d) analyze the current and future trends by reviewing the relevant quality management
literature.).
3. Evaluation of each quality management practice (Examine the influence of quality
management practices in improving customer satisfaction / service performance /
organizational performance. In addressing this aspect, you need to: a) discuss what is
meant by customer satisfaction / service or organizational performance, and b) explain
which aspects of quality management practices are associated with these outcomes and
why.)

4. Comparison of each quality management program (Provide a comparison between all

5. Conclusions and recommendations for each company (Recommend what kind of
