Students are to select an experience from their fieldwork placement, work, or life experience. Please note: Your experience with balancing your personal and school life amid COVID-19 would be an acceptable life experience to select.
After selecting an experience, students must utilize an essay format to apply each step of the Integrative Processing Model(Ch 4) to their selected experience. An essay format for this assignment means that your thoughts are articulated in complete sentences organized into a paragraph format. This format will be required for documenting each step of the integrative processing model.
Bullet point explanations are not acceptable. You can refer to pages 128 to 131 in Chapter 4 of the required textbook to review examples for the accepatable format of your assignment submission.
Each step of the process must have its own separate heading followed by the supporting paragraph. For example, the first step “Gathering Data from Experience” is followed by a written description.
For steps number 2,3,4 and 5 of the process, Reflecting, Identifying Relevant Knowledge, Examining Dissonance and Articulating Learning, students must utilize at least one example to support their explanations.
You must conclude this assignment with a reflective statement, documented under the heading of “Personal Growth and Development”. Your answer must reflect upon the following:
Identify and explain at least one aspect of self-awareness, self-understanding and or self-control that you learned about yourself during your fieldwork experience, or as a student seeking a career in the human services.
Include in your explanation how you plan to incorporate what you learned about yourself into a plan for future use a human service professional.
