As you identify potential media texts to analyze, try to identify one or more themes that you could analyze in your paper. These themes represent potential “angles” for your analysis.
Your angle focuses your analysis on something specific. Strong rhetorical analyses give readers useful information that helps them better understand and interpret the media around them.
Remember, this essay is not asking you to simply identify rhetorical appeals or elements in a text. Your job is to analyze how a text uses rhetoric to engage with a specific topic. This is a more complex task that requires additional research to accomplish.
As you write about your chosen media, identify and discuss at least 2 preliminary sources that you can use to support your rhetorical analysis of at least 1 piece of media. These preliminary sources may not be of sufficient quality to include in the paper, but they should provide some information that supports your analysis.
