Your bibliography will link the areas of inequality discussed in Unit Three of your syllabus to structural conditions. It will help you gain a good perspective on what is being said about your topic. By reading and responding to a variety of (at least four) sources on a topic, you’ll start to see what the issues are, what people are arguing about, and then be able to develop your point of view. Your assignment should include the following.
1. Summarize: write a five-word summary of the researchers’ central theme. Some annotations merely summarize the source. What are the main arguments? What is the point of this book or article? What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article is about, what would you say? The length of your summary should be six to eight sentences.
2. Assess: Discuss how the cited articles help us understand the structure of family relations and link with course material using the course material. This part should be at least three sentences.
3. Compare: Use at least one of your sources to your current citation, highlighting their similarities and differences. Your comparison should address if the citation were helpful. Is it a useful source? How does it compare with other sources in your bibliography? Is the information reliable? Is this source biased or objective? What is the goal of this source? This part should be at least three sentences.
4. Reflect: Link your selected article with your research question. Once you’ve summarized and assessed a source, you must ask how it fits into your research. Was this source helpful to you? How does it help you shape your argument? How can you use this source in your research project? Has it changed how you think about your topic? This part should be at least four sentences.

The article was about the emotional damage victims of domestic violence experience and how it needs to be taken into consideration when treating their physical injuries. This links to my research topic of managing the whole woman because I think sometimes we blame the victim and do not address the psychological effects of such abuse. This is also linked to our course material because the reading by Lamont states that the abuse in relationships can be physical but also emotional and even financial. Khan had a different perspective in his article. He said that treating the person is treating the whole person, and the psychological effect is diminished when we treat the physical abuse and place them in shelters
