Think of a time in your life when you experienced one of Van Hecke’s (2007) ten common blind spots cited in your text. Which one was it? What was/were the outcome(s) of your experience? What might have happened differently if you had not experienced that blind spot (i.e., if you had thought things through first, explored your own biases, seen the big picture and put things in context, noticed what was going on; or had not jumped to a conclusion, not seen the world in rigid categories, not lied to ourselves, not engaged in willful ignorance, etc.)?
