Consider the following scenario. You have been asked to conduct a SARA analysis. Answer the following questions. (Each of the 4 components is worth 1 pt.)
Police have responded to numerous calls to a shopping plaza containing 12 stores, 8 of which are in operation. The plaza is not kept up very well, especially the closed storefronts. It is located across the street from a small park, where homeless people congregate because the shelter is less than two blocks away. The calls for service peak between 3:00 p.m. and midnight. The police have been dispatched due to reports of disturbances, panhandling, gang activity, loitering, drugs, and public drinking. The drug activity has spilled over into two adjacent apartment complexes. The shopping plaza is within 3 blocks of a boys/girls club and within 4 blocks of a middle school. Between 400 and 500 school children walk through the plaza on their way to and from school (which gets out at 3:15 p.m.).
